Available both in a traditional classroom setting and through our flexible blended learning course format, Adventure Medics’ BLS courses are designed to meet the latest American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines and evidence-based practices. Whether you’re in Central Oregon, the Portland metro area, or learning remotely from another part of Oregon, Washington, or Arizona, you’ll receive high-quality CPR instruction from experienced emergency professionals.
Our blended learning option combines interactive online coursework with hands-on skills sessions led by certified instructors. This format is perfect for busy professionals who want to learn at their own pace while still completing the required practice for successful completion of BLS certification.
Since basic life support certification is valid for two years, keeping your card up to date is essential. Adventure Medics offers both initial BLS courses and renewal options for healthcare providers and public safety professionals. A BLS class typically takes 3 to 4.5 hours depending on the format and group size.
When you register, you’ll learn how to:
These skills are critical not only for healthcare professionals and first responders, but also for non-licensed healthcare professionals, medical students, and anyone working in an in-facility healthcare environment.
Getting your BLS certification doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming. The cost can be as low as $14.95, and payment is only collected after passing the exam. There are no hidden fees.
The exam itself includes 12 questions, and you’ll need a score of 70% or higher to pass. If needed, you can retake the test as many times as necessary at no additional cost until you succeed. After passing, graduates immediately receive a temporary wallet card, followed by a permanent card in the mail.
For those seeking BLS recertification, participants can choose to skip directly to the exam if they are already certified, saving time while still meeting AHA renewal requirements.
Adventure Medics’ BLS healthcare provider courses are tailored for nurses, physicians, EMTs, and other healthcare providers who must know how to perform CPR and respond to common medical emergencies. Training content aligns with the AHA Chain of Survival and covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), use of an AED, and first aid techniques in line with the latest AHA guidelines.
Our BLS classes emphasize not only clinical skills but also decision-making, teamwork, and communication. Training includes:
