Most of the CPR training we do is not a public class — it is a business, school, agency or non-profit that needs a group of people certified without shutting down for a day. We build the class around your operation instead of asking your staff to fit into ours.
We come to you
We teach at your workplace — break room, conference room, training bay, fire station, school gym. We bring the manikins, AED trainers, and every course material.
You pick the card
Adventure Medics issues both American Heart Association and HSI / ASHI credentials. If your licensing board, insurer or client contract names one of them, we teach to that one.
Built around your shifts
Early mornings, evenings, back-to-back sessions on an in-service day, or the hybrid format where staff do the online portion on their own time and only need a short in-person skills session. Whatever keeps your people working.
Cards issued fast
Students receive their certification card by email — typically within one business day of the class.
One roster, one invoice
We handle the roster, the certification tracking and a single invoice for the group rather than 40 people expensing 40 seats.
Travel and minimums are negotiable
We do not run you into a rate sheet. Group minimums, travel out to your site, and the number of sessions are all negotiable — tell us the situation and we will build the quote around it. (We teach and certify; we do not sell AEDs.)
Scales past CPR
The same instructor cadre also teaches Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, BLS, ACLS and PALS — and Adventure Medics staffs on-site event medical coverage if your company also runs events.
AHA or HSI / ASHI — which card do you need?
This is the question that decides your course, and getting it wrong means paying twice. We teach both, so the answer never limits who can train you.
HSI / ASHI CPR/AED & First Aid
The workplace and layperson course. Card issued by ASHI (American Health & Safety Institute), valid two years.

How the hybrid (HeartCode / blended) format works
The hybrid option exists because pulling a whole crew off the floor for half a day is expensive. Students complete the coursework online whenever it suits them, then attend a short in-person skills session to practice and test with an instructor — and receive the same certification as the full in-class course.
1. Register
Buy the class and pick your skills-session slot. Scheduling closes three days before the class so there is time to finish the online portion.
2. Online portion
You receive a link by email and work through the course on your own time. Bring your completion certificate to the skills session.
3. Skills session
Hands-on practice and skills testing with an Adventure Medics instructor — roughly two hours.
4. Get your card
Your AHA or ASHI card arrives by email, typically within one business day.

Why Adventure Medics
Adventure Medics is a Central Oregon medical company, not a certification mill. We are an American Heart Association Training Site — in partnership with Central Oregon Community College as our Training Center — and an HSI Training Center whose courses are approved for OSHA and Oregon OSHA compliance. Our instructors are working EMS and medical providers — the same organization staffs event medical coverage, ground ambulance and critical care transport — so the scenarios in class come from calls, not from a script. We teach the full ladder in-house: CPR/AED and First Aid, Wilderness First Aid and the 80-hour Wilderness First Responder course in Bend, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and specialty training such as our Prehospital Ultrasound Academy. Frequently asked questions
Are you an authorized AHA and HSI training provider?
Yes, both. Adventure Medics is an American Heart Association Training Site, in partnership with Central Oregon Community College as our Training Center, and an HSI Training Center. That is why we can issue either card rather than steering you toward the one house we happen to be signed up with.
Will this class satisfy our OSHA requirement?
Our HSI CPR/AED & First Aid courses are approved for OSHA and Oregon OSHA compliance. If your requirement comes from a specific standard, contract or insurer letter, send it over with your quote request and we will confirm the right course before you book.
Is there a minimum group size, and do you charge for travel?
Both are negotiable. We would rather build the quote around your situation — head count, distance, number of sessions — than turn away a crew of eight because of a rate sheet. Call (541) 639-9993 or email train@advmedics.com and ask.
Do you sell AEDs?
No. We are a training and medical services company, not an equipment dealer — we teach your staff to use the AED you have, and we bring AED trainers to class.
Do you teach American Heart Association or HSI courses?
Both. Adventure Medics teaches AHA BLS courses that issue an American Heart Association card, and CPR/AED & First Aid courses in association with HSI that issue an ASHI (American Health & Safety Institute) card. Both are valid for two years. If you are not sure which one your employer, board or client requires, call us and we will help you figure it out before you pay for the wrong class.
Can you bring a class to our workplace?
Yes — that is a large part of what our training division does. We run private, on-site CPR/AED and First Aid classes for employers around Central Oregon and in Arizona, scheduled around your shifts, with all equipment and materials provided. How much does a private group class cost?
Group pricing depends on head count, course, travel and how many sessions you need, so we quote it rather than list it. Email train@advmedics.com or call (541) 639-9993 and we will send a written quote. Individual public seats are priced per person and shown on our class schedule.
How long is a CPR and First Aid class?
Our in-person HSI CPR/AED & First Aid class runs about four hours. The hybrid options move the coursework online and shorten the in-person portion to a roughly two-hour skills session — often the easiest format for a working team.
What is the difference between CPR/First Aid and BLS?
CPR/AED & First Aid is the layperson-and-workplace course: CPR, AED, choking, plus first aid skills like bleeding control, EpiPen use and splinting. BLS (Basic Life Support) is the healthcare-provider course — high-quality CPR, AED and bag-valve-mask ventilation, usually what clinical employers and licensing boards ask for.
How long is my certification good for?
Two years, for both the AHA and the ASHI cards we issue.
What does the CPR/AED and First Aid course actually cover?
Adult, child and infant CPR; safe and effective AED use; helping someone who is choking; and first aid skills including EpiPen use, Stop the Bleed bleeding control and splinting injuries. All materials are provided by Adventure Medics.
How does the hybrid / HeartCode format work?

Do I need any experience to take a CPR class?
No. These courses are built for people with no medical background as well as for staff recertifying, and instruction is hands-on with one-on-one instructor feedback.

Yes. Adventure Medics teaches Wilderness First Aid, a Junior Wilderness First Aid course, and the 80-hour Wilderness First Responder course in Bend — a better fit for camps, guiding companies, trail crews and outdoor education programs than a standard workplace CPR class.
